Sunshine Coast Corporate Charity Golf Challenge Raises $95,000 for Lookout 07
The Sunshine Coast Corporate Charity Golf Challenge, held at Maroochy River Golf Club on 28 August 2026, has raised an incredible $95,304.60 net for Lookout 07, supporting the organisation’s work with young people across the Sunshine Coast.
Hosted by Aitken Legal and supported by Platinum Sponsor Poole Group, the fundraising total was made possible by 144 players and the generosity and commitment of the businesses, sponsors, donors and volunteers who supported the event.
More than 130 businesses, most of them local, contributed to the day. From sponsoring teams and donating prizes and auction items to providing services and volunteering their time, the Sunshine Coast community played a significant role in making the event possible.
There is a significant need for early mental health intervention for young people. Lookout 07 provides a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for young people aged 12–25. Through mentorship, mental health support and recreational programs, the centre helps young people build resilience, develop life skills and form meaningful connections.
Lookout 07’s CEO, Dr Leon Stensholm, said the event demonstrated the impact that can be made when local businesses come together to support young people.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Sunshine Coast community for its generosity. As a small charity, the money raised will go a long way to building on the work we are doing at our centre in Warana. The stories we hear can be harrowing, and we are here to provide a safe space, offer mentorship and help rebuild lives. At the end of the day, if we can save one life, we have made a difference to that person and the people around them.”
The day started with a live broadcast from 92.7 MIXFM, with Mark and AB broadcasting from Maroochy River Golf Club before tee-off. Each hole featured something different, with highlights including three hole-in-one challenges and the chance to win a Kia Tasman X-Pro Ute from Pacific Motor Group Maroochydore, $20,000 cash from Poole Group or a Club Car Golf Cart.
The event also featured entertainment from comedians Dave Thornton and Ellen Briggs, live music from Brian Carlon and lunch catered by Market Bistro. Auctioneer Yianni Mooney led the live auction, raising additional funds, while Catton and Tondelstrand Family Lawyers donated a $5,000 raffle prize.
Lisa Aitken, Managing Director of Aitken Legal, said the event had continued to grow while maintaining its focus on bringing local businesses together to support a worthwhile cause.
“We are proud to have raised $95,304.60 net for Lookout 07 at our 13th Sunshine Coast Corporate Charity Golf Challenge. It is a premium corporate golf day and each year we look for ways to elevate the experience, showcasing local businesses and creating something different across all 18 holes.
“Having more than 130 businesses contribute in some way, along with the many volunteers and key partners who supported the event, reflects the strength of the Sunshine Coast business community. Platinum Sponsor Poole Group, Event Partner Maroochy River Golf Club, Catering Partner Market Bistro, Raffle Sponsor Catton and Tondelstrand Family Lawyers and Media Sponsor 92.7 MIXFM all played an important role in the day’s success. We are pleased to have been able to raise these funds for Lookout 07 and look forward to continuing the event in the years ahead.”
Lookout 07 extends its thanks to every sponsor, business, player, donor, volunteer and supporter who contributed to the event and helped raise funds for its work with young people.
