In order to ensure that we continue to provide exceptional service to our valued clients, and to grow our firm to meet demands - particularly with the introduction of the Fair Work Act - we need to employ a lawyer with experience in Employment and Industrial Relations Law. Aitken Legal specialises in all areas of Employment and Industrial Relations Law including terminations, misconduct and performance issues, contracts and enterprise agreements, unfair dismissal and unlawful termination claims, workplace health and safety, discrimination and harassment, workplace policies, transmissions of business, redundancies, industrial action, union negotiations and bargaining, etc.
Our clients include some of the largest employers on the Sunshine Coast and cover both public and private sectors - such as, Local Government, hospitality and tourism, construction and development, education, transport and not-for-profit organisations - just to name a few.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years experience in Employment and Industrial Relations Law.
This position will suit a lawyer who has a passion for Employment and Industrial Relations Law; attention to detail with exceptional legal and drafting skills. At the same time, the ideal applicant will need to be a team player with great people skills.
The successful applicant will work alongside Lisa Aitken, the Managing Partner of the firm who is an Accredited Specialist in Workplace Relations Law, and Christopher Campbell, Partner, both of whom have vast experience in this area. Between them, Lisa and Chris have more than 30 years experience in Employment and Industrial Relations Law and can offer the successful applicant the opportunity to learn from their experience.

LAWYER: WORKERS' COMPENSATION LAW We are currently looking for a lawyer who is a current panel lawyer with WorkCover Queensland. This position will suit a lawyer who has vast experience in, and a passion for, Workers' Compensation law with a working relationship with WorkCover Queensland. The lawyer will be responsible for growing a practice within the firm in workers' compensation law with WorkCover Queensland as the main client, as well as other self-insured clients from time to time. The ideal applicant needs to have attention to detail with exceptional legal and drafting skills and at the same time, will need to be a team player with great people skills. It would also be an added advantage if the lawyer had experience in Employment and Industrial Relations law, although this is not essential as we would be willing to train the lawyer in this area of law if it is of interest to the successful applicant.
The successful applicant will work alongside Lisa Aitken, the Managing Partner of the firm who is also an Accredited Specialist in Workplace Relations Law, and Christopher Campbell, Partner - both of whom have vast experience in workplace relations. Lisa and Chris are wanting to expand on the firms growing practice into Workers' Compensation matters and the successful applicant will work with them to build this part of the practice.
